Are you fed up of overpriced corporate nightclubs and superstar DJs? Or nights out defined by niche sub-genres of whatever vacuous style mags say is fashionable that month?
So are we – welcome to Music For The People.
Inspired by the legendary People’s Republic Of Disco we’re a night that YOU, the people, control. We play what you want to hear, simply bring along your favourite two tunes (on vinyl or CD/CD-R) and we’ll do the rest.
Any era, any genre, we don’t mind. Cheesy pop, stomping drum & bass, beardy folk, funky disco or even face shredding metal, all we care about is a good old boogie on the dancefloor, preferably accompanied by a stiff drink or six. If you want to dance to it we’ll play it, with the obvious exception of anything by U2, because lets face it, Bono is the worlds biggest wanker.
So, have a hunt through your music collection and dig out the funky, the banging or the just plain weird – then all you have to do is come along, get drunk and dance.
